The app asks: Which language do you speak? A searchable list shows languages in their own script. No account needed. 5 free minutes every day.
The LingoVoice app on one phone between two people. The top half faces the Spanish speaker, upside down for you. The bottom half reads: Sure, have a seat wherever you like and I'll bring it over to you straight away. Below it, a Tap to talk button and the line: He'll hear you in Spanish.

Real screens from the app

A conversation, in your hands.

Five steps, from choosing your languages to hearing it again. Every screen here is a real screen from the app.

  1. Step 1: Choose your languages.

Find yours in a list of 260+, written in its own script, then pick theirs.

The app asks: Which language do you speak? A searchable list shows languages in their own script, such as Sindhi, Sinhala, Slovak, Somali, Spanish and Swahili. The other person speaks Spanish. Start talking.

  2. Step 2: Put the phone between you.

The screen splits in two, and each of you gets your own half, facing you. Or use two phones: scan a QR code and each person talks into their own.

  3. Step 3: Tap and talk.

Tap once and speak. It stops listening by itself when you stop talking. Where speech is not available yet, type instead.

Typing in Tigrinya at a doctor's reception

At a doctor's reception the other person types in Tigrinya. Your half reads: Hello, I have an appointment with the doctor. Where should I wait? The app notes: He'll read your words in Tigrinya.
    Real screen from the app
  4. Step 4: They hear it in their language.

Your words reach them in their own language, on their half of the screen and, in 80+ languages, out loud. Hear one for yourself.

    2. Dr Hughes hears Doctor, I have had a headache for three days.
    3. Dr Hughes says I understand. Any fever, nausea, or medication?
    4. Amina hears زه پوهېږم. آیا تبه، زړه بدوالی یا کوم درمل شته؟
    5. Amina says نه تبه، خو زړه مې بدېږي
    6. Dr Hughes hears No fever, but I feel nauseous.

Made with LingoVoice in the browser, with real LingoVoice voices.

  5. Step 5: Play it again.

Missed a word? Tap play again and hear the last translation one more time.
