1. Getting Started

LingoVoice is a real-time interpreting platform that lets people who speak different languages have a conversation together. No apps to install — it works directly in your web browser.

Create Your Account

You have three options to sign up:

Every new account gets 60 free minutes per month — no card required. Your free minutes reset automatically every month.

2. How to Use LingoVoice

Using LingoVoice takes less than a minute to set up:

1
Sign In

Go to lingovoice.ai/app and sign in with your account. You'll see the "Join a Conversation" screen.

2
Enter Your Name & Language

Type your display name and select the language you speak. This is the language you'll type or speak in, and the language you'll receive translations in.

3
Create or Join a Room

Click "Create Room" to get a unique 6-character room code (e.g. ABC123), or enter an existing code to join someone else's room.

4
Share the Room Code

Send the 6-character code to the other person. They go to lingovoice.ai/app, sign in, enter the code, and join. That's it — you're connected.

5
Start Talking

Type or speak in your language. LingoVoice automatically translates everything for each participant into their chosen language in real time.

Tip: You can have multiple people in the same room, each speaking a different language. LingoVoice translates for everyone individually.

3. Text & Voice Messages

Text Messages

Type your message in the chat box and press Enter or click Send. Your message is instantly translated and delivered to every other participant in their language. You'll see both the original text and the translation.

Voice Messages

Click the microphone button to record a voice message. LingoVoice will:

  1. Transcribe your speech to text (speech-to-text).
  2. Translate the text into each participant's language.
  3. Deliver the translated text to the room.

Participants can also enable text-to-speech to hear translations spoken aloud in their language.

Tip: For voice messages, speak clearly and at a normal pace. Short sentences (10-20 words) give the best translation accuracy.

4. Supported Languages

LingoVoice supports 265 languages for text translation, covering virtually every spoken language in the world. Here's an overview:

Feature Languages Details
Text Translation 265 Full coverage including rare and regional languages
Voice Input (Speech-to-Text) 50+ All major languages, including 15 Arabic dialects
Voice Output (Text-to-Speech) 400+ Premium voices for 29 languages, standard voices for 400+

Popular languages include English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Hindi, Turkish, Dutch, Polish, and many more.

Tip: LingoVoice uses smart routing to pick the best translation engine for each language pair. European business languages get premium quality via DeepL, while Arabic is optimised through Google's specialised models.

5. Pricing & Minutes

How It Works

How Minutes Are Counted

Minutes are counted from when you join a room until you leave. Your free minutes are used first — paid minutes are only used after free minutes run out.

You'll get a warning when you have less than 5 minutes remaining, so you always have time to wrap up a conversation.

Payment Methods

We accept all major payment methods through Mollie (cards, iDEAL, Bancontact, and more) and PayPal.

6. Tips for Best Results

1
Use a Good Microphone

A headset or dedicated microphone gives much better voice recognition than a laptop's built-in mic. Reduce background noise where possible.

2
Speak Clearly & Naturally

Speak at a normal pace. Avoid speaking too fast or mumbling. Clear speech dramatically improves transcription accuracy.

3
Keep Messages Short

Shorter messages (1-2 sentences) translate more accurately than long paragraphs. Break complex ideas into smaller messages.

4
Use a Modern Browser

LingoVoice works best on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. Make sure your browser is up to date for the best experience.

5
Allow Microphone Access

When your browser asks for microphone permission, click "Allow". This is required for voice messages. You can revoke it any time in your browser settings.

7. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install anything?
No. LingoVoice runs entirely in your web browser. There's nothing to download or install. Just go to lingovoice.ai/app and sign in.
Does it work on mobile phones?
Yes. LingoVoice is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. For the best experience, use Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone. Voice messages work on mobile too — just tap the microphone button.
Which browsers are supported?
LingoVoice works on all modern browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest version. Internet Explorer is not supported.
How many people can be in one room?
There's no hard limit. A room can have multiple participants, each speaking a different language. LingoVoice translates every message for every participant individually. For best performance, we recommend up to 10 people per room.
What happens when my minutes run out?
You'll receive a warning when you have less than 5 minutes remaining. When your minutes reach zero, you won't be able to join new rooms until you top up or your free minutes reset next month. Any active conversation will continue until you leave the room.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. Messages are translated in real time and are not stored permanently. Your password is encrypted with bcrypt, and all connections use HTTPS encryption. We don't sell your data or use tracking cookies. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
How accurate are the translations?
LingoVoice uses multiple professional translation engines (including Google, DeepL, and Azure) and automatically selects the best one for each language pair. Accuracy is very high for common languages and business/general conversation. For critical legal or medical discussions, we recommend having a professional interpreter verify important details.
Can I change my language during a conversation?
Yes. You can change your language at any time using the language selector in the chat room. New messages will be translated to your updated language. This is useful if you're multilingual and want to switch between languages.
Do free minutes roll over to the next month?
No. Free minutes reset to 60 each month. Unused free minutes don't carry over. However, any paid minutes you've purchased never expire — they stay in your account until you use them.
Can I use LingoVoice for business meetings?
Absolutely. LingoVoice is designed for professional use — business meetings, client calls, healthcare consultations, legal discussions, and education. The translation quality is optimised for professional context, and your data is handled securely.
